The first thing to confirm isn't a vendor — it's your window. Day of the week, time of day, and the general location along the coast all shape everything that follows. A Saturday in June at golden hour in Destin looks and feels completely different from a Tuesday morning in October on 30A, and both are beautiful for entirely different reasons.

At Emerald Coast Marriage, photography and your officiant are already included in your package — which means once your date is confirmed, two of the biggest stressors on a typical wedding planning list are already handled. What you're really doing in this first step is protecting the date itself before someone else does.

For summer 2027 dates, we recommend reaching out at least 6 months in advance. For fall and winter, 3 months is workable — though earlier always means more options, not fewer.

Step Two: Your Ceremony Logistics — Permits, Timing, and Tide

This is the part of elopement planning that surprises people the most.

Depending on where on the Emerald Coast you're planning to hold your ceremony, beach permits, parking coordination, and timing windows tied to tidal conditions and sun position all come into play. These aren't obstacles — they're just details that are much easier to manage when you're not doing it the week before.
